The ANZAC Centenary Program encompasses all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Australians have been involved.

Blackboy Hill Military Camp is the birthplace of Western Australia’s ANZAC forces. YMCA Perth’s social and recreational presence at Blackboy Hill and beyond has been recorded in history books as one of great significance. In April 1914, at Blackboy Hill, YMCA Perth opened the first of many YMCA social centres for soldiers. Upon declaration of war in August 1914, YMCA Perth set up social centres at every military camp in Western Australia – among them Rottnest and Fremantle. Eventually, YMCA social centres were in every military camp in every country where servicemen and women were stationed.

In honour of those who volunteered and served, we have created a video series - Episodes 1-5: YMCA and the ANZAC Centenary. Click here, or the image above, to watch the series.

Further information about the ANZAC Centenary can be found on the Department of Veteran's Affairs ANZAC portal site.
